Johnny used to work at a bar in Long Beach, CA that only had two things on the menu. One: pickled eggs Two: The Joe’s Special. The Special is a polish sausage on rye with pickle and mustard…that’s it. As we reminisce sometimes of our California days, we miss the Joe’s Special so we decided to try to create our own here in Iowa. Our polish sausage seasoning has sea salt, cane sugar, proprietary spice blend, celery juice, mustard and garlic and it’s pretty damn good. Try serving it up with a slice of rye bread and slap on a pickle and some mustard for some Joia’s Special goodness.
